For the uninitiated, Lady Gaga has her very own Oreo cookies now.

And, suffice to say, fans have been low-key losing it and trying to get their claws on them for the last few days.
2020: Panic buying toilet rolls.
2021: Panic buying Chromatica oreos.
Meanwhile, like a jerk, I happened to randomly come across them while picking up some allergy meds at Target. So, I decided to grab a pack because I was very curious what these mysterious pink and green Oreos would taste like and if they would live up to the hype.

First of all, here’s what the package looks like in real life:

It’s a lovely, shiny, metallic pink and looks like something straight out of Gaga’s “Stupid Love” video.
The packaging describes the cookies as “pink colored golden cookie with green creme.”

And here’s what they look like when you rip one of these bad boys open.

There are three unique patterns on the cookies themselves which look like a recreation of Gaga’s Chromatica album cover, the “Stupid Love” heart icon, and the word “Chromatica” full-on replacing the “Oreo” logo.

For the record, the flipside of all these cookies is just the normal Oreo logo.
The green creme inside the cookies is A LOT smoother than the normal Oreo cookie cream. The texture was more consistent with frosting than cream. So twisting the Oreos apart was a lot “easier” than normal (if that’s your thing!).

Also, the creme looked a lot like Play-Doh upon closer inspection, LOL.
So what do the Chromatica Oreos actually taste like? TBH, like regular Golden Oreo cookies.

Honestly, at first I thought they tasted like Froot Loops, but I suspect that was my brain messing with me because of the colors of the cookie. Because, when I tried my second cookie, I closed my eyes and thought, “OK, if I was blindfolded I literally would think this was just a Golden Oreo Cookie.” If there’s one major difference I noticed between these and a “regular” Oreo it’s that these seemed a little sweeter than normal. In fact, after just two my teeth kinda felt like they hurt.
And, in case you’re wondering, here are the ingredients:

Bottom line: If you’re a Lady Gaga stan, you’ll probably love these for the ~collectibility~ factor and bragging rights. As for everyone else, if you happen to casually pass them in a store, sure go for it, try ’em out. But I wouldn’t lose any sleep over not ever trying these.
