🚨Warning: MASSIVE spoilers ahead for Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 4!🚨

Hi, hello. Let’s get right to it again: Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 is in full swing and this season has been all about the coronavirus pandemic so far.

Richard dressed in full PPE

ABC

Namely, we’ve been watching Meredith Grey struggle after she contracted COVID-19 during the two-hour season premiere.

So, Meredith has been visiting a beach in her dream-like state and it’s there that she reunited with Derek.

And while this MerDer reunion was something right out of my Grey’s Anatomy dream journal, this week’s episode featured the return of a second original character, and it was equally as emotional.

As Meredith gets worse in the real world, she continues to wander this beach and suddenly sees someone.

ABC

And it was none other than George O’Malley, and I fully started crying upon hearing him say, “Mer?”

George saying, "Mer? What are you doing here?"

That’s right, T.R. Knight returned to Grey’s for the first time since his departure in Season 5.

George and Meredith got to catch up and talk about things I never thought they would get the chance to, which was just so exciting to see as a longtime fan.

George telling Meredith she has great kids and Meredith saying, "You didn't meet them," but George reassures her he checks in

ABC

George even brought up Meredith, Cristina, Izzie, and Alex laughing at his funeral, which is such an iconic moment from the series.

And Meredith got to tell George how his death changed her and how much he impacted her.

Meredith telling George that his death affected her and then saying, "You changed my life, George. I didn’t say it then, but it’s true"

ABC

While the reminiscing was great, George also told Meredith that she needs to return to her kids, to Richard, and to the rest of her family, because losing her would break them.

ABC

As if the George and Meredith reunion wasn’t enough, the last moment of the episode featured Richard, Meredith, George, and Bailey just sitting together. My heart honestly couldn’t take it.

Don’t worry, Richard and Bailey aren’t dead, but since they were talking to Meredith IRL, they appeared. These beach rules are wild, but I’ll go with it.

Talking about his big return, T.R. Knight explained to Deadline how much the final moment meant to him, saying, “I’m still trying to put into words how profound the experience was for me, so just hearing [about the final scene] made my eyes leak saltwater a little bit.”

He continued, saying, “When Krista [Vernoff] first gave me the pages, Bailey was not in it yet, I think Richard was. And then I got the second round. It’s just hard for me to put into words, still, how meaningful it was.”

Also, T.R. took to Instagram to thank Ellen Pompeo for being an incredible acting partner and saying that while George and Meredith love each other, nothing compares to the love he has for Ellen:

And Ellen’s response was simply the best:

Basically, like me, everyone is emotional about George’s return to Grey’s Anatomy. Here are some of the best tweets from the cast, the crew, and fans about the moment:

And yes, I’m mentally preparing for more people to show up on this beach and just so I can scream it in yet another place: If it’s Lexie Grey, someone please check on me.
