We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which TV couples were so bad, they never should have gotten together in the first place. Here are some of their responses:

🚨Spoilers ahead!🚨

Note: Some of the following contain mentions of sexual assault and abuse.

1.

Jackie and Fez from That ’70s Show:

Jackie and Fez as a couple in Season 8

Fox

“I loved Jackie and Hyde and thought they should have ended up together. I would have even settled for Jackie and Kelso, but Fez?! Jackie really grew up throughout the series and I can’t believe they made her end up with someone she had zero chemistry with.”

Aria and Ezra from Pretty Little Liars:

Riley dares Buffy to hit him and says he's leaving unless she gives him a reason to stay

The WB

“Riley couldn’t handle that Buffy was stronger than him and that she didn’t need him the way he thought she should have. She needed to be with someone who completely understood her, and that was never going to be Riley.”

winchestergirl89

4.

Emily and Paige from Pretty Little Liars:

Paige shoves Emily's head under water, kisses her in the car a few episodes later

“It was gross and weird after everything that happened.”

eriemendes33

6.

Kurt and Blaine from Glee:

13.

Echo and Bellamy from The 100:

Echo reminds Bellamy she almost killed her sister, Bellamy claims his sister will understand

The CW

“Their relationship never made any sense in the first place — Echo literally tried to kill his sister! It clearly wasn’t right and they definitely never should have been a couple.”

kal63

14.

Joey and Rachel from Friends:

Joey tells Rachel he's in love with her, she replies, "What?"

NBC

“The relationship was so unnecessary. They had no chemistry at all and were nothing more than a way to keep Ross and Rachel apart.”

mattyc3

15.

Steve and Laura from Family Matters:

Steve and Laura together

ABC / Everett Collection

“Even when I was younger, I didn’t buy that they’d actually ever get together. It just reinforced this idea that if you pester someone who has absolutely no romantic interest in you long enough, they’ll fall in love and marry you.”

elizabethd37

16.

Spencer and Caleb from Pretty Little Liars:

Spencer and Caleb sit on couch alongside Hanna

Freeform

“A real friend would never date their best friend’s ex. I think they just threw them together to make the show more exciting.”

rachelsg1210

17.

Alex Karev and Ava/Rebecca from Grey’s Anatomy:

Alex and Ava/Rebecca kissing

ABC

“It felt like the writers were trying to include more patient storylines, but it failed miserably. There was no chemistry or logic behind them being together.”

laantto4

18.

Kelly and Darryl from The Office:

Darryl tells Kelly to access her "uncrazy" side and Kelly says he's the most selfish person she's ever met

NBC

“It wasn’t a total dumpster fire, but it was just unnecessary. Their relationship only happened as a way for the writers to get Kelly and Ryan back together.”

childrenofthecornbread

19.

Blair and Chuck from Gossip Girl:

Chuck grabs Blair and says she can't marry anyone else because she's "his"

The CW

“Why they felt the need to ‘redeem’ a serial rapist in the first place is beyond me, but Chuck didn’t even actually become a better person. He emotionally abused Blair throughout the show to the point where she actually forgot what it was like to be happy. They never should have glamorized the relationship.”

wherearemylesbians

20.

Isabelle and Raphael from Shadowhunters:

Freeform

“They weren’t together in the books, and the two of them being a couple took away from the fact that Raphael was supposed to be aromantic.”

c_someone_m

21.

Archie and Veronica from Riverdale:

Archie tells Veronica he doesn't want to talk and they proceed to have sex in jail

The CW

ilovetwilight101

“I actually really liked them together at first, but the relationship is bad for both characters at this point. All they do is argue and hook up. Veronica deserves plots outside of Archie.” —kellymartinez

22.

ABC

“I don’t even know what to say other than it was messed up.”

caitlinhannah

23.

24.

Coach and Cece from New Girl:

Cece and Coach at a basketball game, Cece says this wasn't what she expected

ABC

“Not only was their timing terrible, there was absolutely no chemistry between them. I was rooting for Cece to break it off the whole time.”

caitlinhannah

25.

Lane and Zach from Gilmore Girls:

Lane on bed rest pregnant with twins alongside Zach

The WB

“It was clear they only threw him and Lane together because Dave left the show. The writers made them get married and have babies right away when Lane had barely had a taste of living her own life. They did Lane dirty.”

sadishradish

26.

And finally, Miles and Tristan from Degrassi: Next Class:

Miles and Tristan fight over school project, Tristan calls it a "symbol of their relationship"

Netflix

“Their relationship was toxic from the start. Tristan constantly made Miles feel bad for his sexuality and never supported him through any of his family problems, while Miles just wanted someone to latch onto. The show kept trying to paint them as an epic romance, but they didn’t even like each other! Miles’s relationship with Lola should have been further explored instead.”
