Their backstory: In a recent appearance on the The Late Late Show with James Corden, Mendes went into detail about how his friendship with McConaughey started. He said: “I’m pretty sure I forced this relationship on you — I messaged him a few times on Instagram, I asked for his phone number, and then I got a call. I was in desperate need of advice, and that’s how the friendship started.”

Their backstory: Carey and Brown met for the first time in 2019 because Carey’s kiddos — Roc and Roe — are huge fans of Brown and Stranger Things. The two legends have been pals for over a year now, and Brown even visited Carey’s house a few months ago.

Their backstory: Skarsgård and McBrayer were neighbors in Los Angeles around the time Skarsgård was on True Blood. In a 2019 interview, he revealed the pretty unusual way his friendship with McBrayer started. He said: “[McBrayer] had a telescope fixed on my house that was on the other side of a canyon. I didn’t have a TV when I moved in, [so] there were a couple of months I got one — when I turned it on, I got a phone call a second [later], and [McBrayer said]: ‘You got a television.'”

Their backstory: Markle and Chopra connected at an Elle dinner celebrating women in TV back in 2016 and have stayed friends ever since. Chopra even attended Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
In a 2016 interview with The Indian Express, Markle talked about her close friendship with Chopra: “You know when you meet someone and you just click? It was just an easy, natural progression. We’ve managed to keep in touch via email and text, and try to see each other whenever we’re both in the same town.”

Their backstory: Jackson and Sheindlin met a while back through Jackson’s agent, and have spent countless years hanging out together (mostly over dinner). Sheindlin even helped Jackson quit smoking — on WWHL in 2017, he said: “We used to smoke together, and when Judy stopped smoking, she made me stop smoking. She sent me to her doctor in White Plains, who actually treats you with sodium thiopental, and I quit.”

Their backstory: Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini were suuuuper tight buds before starring in Second Act together in 2018. Lopez’s ex-husband, Marc Anthony, introduced the two New York natives at the movie premiere for Man on Fire in 2004.
While promoting Second Act with Remini, Lopez reminisced about meeting for the first time: “Her and Angelo (Remini’s husband) came to the premiere and we instantly fell in love — we fell in love! That’s the real love story here. Me and Marc broke up, and you and me stayed together!”

Their backstory: Levine and Hill grew up together in Los Angeles, and have remained close to this day. In 2016, Hill appeared on The Howard Stern Show and described what it was like to officiate his childhood BFF’s wedding. He said: “The joke I wrote was like, ‘Adam and I grew up together. It’s so nice to see all the people we grew up skateboarding with ― like Stevie Nicks and Robert Downey Jr..’ I was giving him shit because he had really famous people at his wedding.”

Their backstory: Kravitz and Gershon went to the same high school in Los Angeles, along with another famous classmate: Nicolas Cage (then Nicolas Coppola). They were involved in school plays together, like Oklahoma!, with Gershon in the lead acting role and Kravitz playing drums in the pit.
They’ve stayed close over the years — Gershon even appeared as Kravitz’s girlfriend in his music video, “Again,” in the early 2000s.
